As we have noted elsewhere, private insurance companies may cover the entire treatment fee or a portion of it. But in the case that your insurance carrier only covers a part of the Stonewater treatment costs, our intake counselors will help you explore other financing options so that your family can secure the help you need.

Treatment FinancingThere are several options available to families whose insurance does not cover the entire cost of treatment. Stonewater can help with and advise on all of these. Among the alternatives are:

  • Double-check your insurance. The 2008 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act dictates that insurance providers must provide the same amount of coverage for mental health and substance use as they would for other medical and surgical care.
  • The Affordable Care Act. This program has made financing substance use treatment easier than ever. You can find out more information at
  • Personal financing and loans. The families of many residents prefer to finance treatment themselves, through relatives, or other loan sources.
  • There are also several options available through programs administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). They can be contacted online or through their 24-hour helpline.

Barring these, Stonewater does provide a range of options to help you defray the costs of treatment. These are available to all residents and can be discussed with you and your family during the intake and prescreening process.

At Stonewater, we believe that financing should not get in the way of your adolescent’s health. For this reason, we are dedicated to serving you, whatever your financial situation.
