New Report Reveals the State of Tobacco Use Among Teens Around the World
Prevention Techniques that WorkThe World Health Organization found that these techniques and prevention measures had the greatest effect in reducing the use of tobacco among teenagers:
- Tobacco or cigarette taxes
- Banning ads on vending machines
- Smoke-free policies which prohibit smoking in public places
- Warning labels on cigarette packaging which list consequences of smoking
Cigarette use is common among teenagers who abuse drugs and alcohol as well as tobacco. Smoking cessation is a necessary tool in recovery and relapse prevention.
