The Stonewater Summit Program

At Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center, we are blessed each day to witness the transformation of young boys who decide to rededicate their lives to new meaning. The Stonewater Summit Program is a small and selective 8-bed program created to give Stonewater leaders additional stepping stones on a path of purpose and provide opportunities to mentor other Stonewater adolescents on their treatment journeys.

In the coming weeks, local officials will determine the fate of the Stonewater Summit Program, and they have already expressed concerns. We need your support. Help us in our efforts to explain the value of this program — and help us continue to change lives.

Setting the Stage: A Generation in Crisis

In the decade leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers found a 40% increase in “feelings of persistent sadness and hopelessness—as well as suicidal thoughts and behaviors” amongst young people. That trend has only continued.

From March 2020 to 2024, anxiety and depression symptoms in adolescents doubled globally

Nearly one in five adolescents has experienced a serious mental health disorder

“Suicide has been the second- or third-leading cause of death for young people between 10 and 24 years for decades now,” Mitch Prinstein, the American Psychological Association’s Chief Science Officer.

“There’s no question young people are telling us they are in crisis. The data really calls on us to act.”

— Kathleen Ethier, Director of the CDC’s Division of Adolescent & School Health
